The Telugu film industry seems to be divided between the two dominant castes – Kamma and Kapu. This division has been there for over one decade with leading heroes Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna representing the two castes.

There were several incidents where the fans of the two heroes clashed across the State at the time of release of their films. Even the college students are divided on the caste lines in forming the heroes’ fans associations.

Now, the second generation is coming up with Chiranjeevi’s son, Ram Charan Tej and Nagarjuna’s son Naga Chaitanya taking over the reigns. While Chiru’s son Charan had made his debut with Chirutha last year, Chaitanya is making his maiden appearance now with a film Josh.

On Friday, Charan’s second film – Magadheera – was released with much fan fare. While keeping an eye on the Chaitanya’s Josh, the film is also trying to break the record of Mahesh Babu’s Pokiri.

The Megastar fans were told to do everything to break the Pokiri record, besides keeping the audiences intact by the time Josh hits the screen. The Megastar fans have been working out round the clock across the State to create much hype for the Magadheera movie. They have been fighting with the authorities to allow them to screen the movie five shows a day against four shows.

It is to be seen how the new generation Tollywood would survive if it gets divided on the caste lines like this.
